Mas Marc\u00e8 is a sheep farm in the Empord\u00e0 (Siurana d’Empord\u00e0) where 100% organic sheep’s cheese and cottage cheese are produced.<\/p>\n\n
The guided tour of their facilities begins with a visit to the workshop where you can see how they make cheese and cottage cheese from sheep’s milk. From the workroom (which can be seen through a glass window), you go to the milking parlour, and from there to the pen where the children can see and touch small lambs.<\/p>\n\n
The tour continues through the fields where sheep graze and you reach a pond where they will explain how the water treatment plant and the solar panels work. On the way back, there is a tasting of 5 cheeses, cottage cheese, yoghurt, Empord\u00e0 wine, water and a slice of bread with Oli de Mas Marc\u00e8.<\/p>\n\n
Visits to the facilities can be made in Catalan, Spanish and English, every day except Sunday afternoons. Reservations must be made at least 24 hours in advance and there must be a minimum of 2 people.<\/p>\n\n
