This summer, take a few days off? A good way to disconnect, get rid of stress and recover lost energy is to be in contact with nature. At Masos Can Sot, in Alt Empordà, we are surrounded by nature trails and routes. We explain one that runs along the river la Muga.
Details of the route
This route is designed to be done on foot, with an approximate duration of one hour and you will cover about 2,3 km.
The starting point is Pont de Molins, where you cross the bridge and take the path on the right bank of the river.
Along the way, you will find the first and best preserved lime kilns.
After about two kilometres, you will see that the path turns off to the right and becomes a much more charming path, amidst holm oaks and riverside vegetation, such as poplars. With a bit of luck, you might even see an otter.
Continue walking and you will see that the landscape takes on a more mountainous aspect; you should reach a small zigzagging path and continue until you come to a footbridge over the river Muga that will take you to an old flour mill.
It is a simple, easy hiking route that will make you have a good time with your family. You can also complete your outing with a dip in the Masos Can Sot swimming pool on your return from the walk.
